The 20X20 Campaign was a winner on Saturday night at the Irish Tatler Women of the Year Awards.
The campaign which has raised the level of awareness and discourse around the whole area of Women in Sport over the past year was recognised by the judges in the GameChanger category.
Sarah Colgan and Heather Thornton, Partners in the Along Came a Spider agency were on hand to pick up their award on a special night at the Shelbourne Hotel.
It was a huge honour to win an Irish Tatler Women of the Year Award,” said Colgan.
“To have been nominated as a Gamechanger, with my partner in crime Heather Thornton, was a moment of great pride. Particularly with so many other game-changing women in that room.”
“It is both moving and inspiring to see the momentum that 20×20 is gathering and none of it would be possible without our five incredible sponsors AIG Ireland, Investec (Ireland), KPMG Ireland, Lidl Ireland and Three Ireland.”
“The 20×20 family is a great one, in addition to five passionate sponsors, the brilliant work of the Federation of Irish Sport as programme presenter continues to be so important as well as the national sporting governing bodies and local sports partnerships who have signed up as leaders on this.”
“And crucially, our wonderful media partners RTE, Off The Ball, SportsJOE.ie, Her.ie and TG4 who are such a key part of making this shift happen.”
“The landscape is indeed starting to shift and this award is dedicated to the parents, the sports fans, the athletes, the teachers, the coaches, the media and the Irish public who are pushing the objectives of 20×20 forward every day.”
Kellie Harrignton pictured above with Colgan and Thornton won the Sport Award on the night, another richly deserved accolade to add to her being named last December as the Irish Times / Sport Ireland Sports Women of the Year.
