Woe for Spain as Chile dumped the winners of the last three major international tournaments out at the first stage.
Shamrock Rovers were hot on social media in advance of the game tweeting out this picture of 10 year old Ciaran Duffy who was one of the mascots accompanying Spanish keeper Iker Cassillas onto the pitch.
Duffy is the star of McDonalds video advertising during the tournament, doing trick shots that could have been well used by Spain last night.
Tuesday, June 17th
The football left a lot to be desired last night but Eamon Dunphy livened up proceedings on RTE when re revealed his belief that Neymar was ‘F*7^*’ dreading it taking a penalty against Croatia.
The pundit apologised, not realising he was on air at the time, saying it was the first time in 36 years he had sworn on air.
