50 Women of Influence – Louise Kidd

Louise Kidd, AIG

Louise Kidd is Head of Financial Lines at AIG Insurance.  She is also one of the few All Ireland Winners in Ladies Football to translate the lessons she learned as a player into a career aiming to the top in financial services.

She joined AIG in 2003 after working at O’Driscol O’Neil for a spell beforehand.  She won the All Ireland with Dublin in 2010 and is part of the senior management team in AIG who have supported all the Dublin GAA teams over the last five years of huge success.

That strength of support will continue with another five-year deal signed in 2018 covering the four codes of Dublin Gaelic Games.

The influence extends beyond as well with AIG a strong backer of Golf, Tennis and from 2018 Badminton.  A key element linking each of the partnerships has been an insistence that the Men’s and Women’s games in all are part of the deal and given equal prominence in all communication.

Kidd was a driving force in the creation last year of the Game Changer Network, an initiative between AIG and Sport for Business to bring Women in Business together with Women in Sport and learn from each other to help each other.

50 Women of Influence in Irish Sport 2018 is brought to you by Sport for Business in partnership with our friends at Liberty Insurance.

Over recent weeks we have identified 50 Women who are leaders in sport, on and off the field of play. You can see the full list here. They include those who are role models in terms of their abilities and what they have achieved. They come from teams and individual sports, from sponsorship partners, from the media, from the administrative corridors of power and from places where influence may be subtle but no less powerful.

The list is not definitive.  There are 50 more and 50 more again who would have a valid claim to featuring on it.  From January 2019 we will have a weekly feature identifying more of the Women who are working every day to ensure that positions of influence on sport are based on what you can do rather than on the narrow focus of gender

Contact us today Quoting Women in Sport 2019 Nomination to let us know who you think we should be featuring.

Our 5th Annual Women in Sport conference takes place in the studios of RTÉ on Wednesday morning, December 5th.

This event is now completely sold out.

We will also be publishing this year’s Women of Influence list, together with other interviews and content relating to the cause of promoting Women in Sport in a commemorative booklet.

If you would like to highlight the work your organisation is doing in this area as part of this project CONTACT US TODAY, Quoting Women in Sport 2019 Partnership and let’s talk about the options that are available.
