There are only a little over 48 hours to go to the 2018 Irish Sponsorship Summit and the organisers have published a list of the near 150 industry professionals who have already signed up to be there on the day.
There is a strong mix of rights holders, brands and agencies and plenty of members of Sport for Business who will be there.
The speaker and presentation line up on the day will be headed up by Alexander Shapiro, Visa’s Head of Sponsorship in Europe who will deliver one of the keynote addresses
Shapiro will take an audience of sports, sports marketing and business leaders through the ways in which Visa is to activate its global sponsorship of the FIFA World Cup in Russia this summer.
The major sponsors at the major global events always tend to use them as a launch pad for substantial changes in the way they connect to consumers and Visa in the past used the London 2012 Olympic Games to champion contactless payments, now such an integral part of everyday life.
What they have in mind for 2018 will be a fascinating glimpse at the world of payments over the coming years.
Shapiro will be joined by Nathan Homer and Max Hamilton from the European Tour looking at how sponsorship is developing across different European markets and there will be a special focus on experiential with Ashley Bowen, the Global Director, Consumer Marketing, at IMG’s Action Sports and Endurance Divisions.
Sport for Business members including Mark Doyle from AIB and Karl Donnelly from Three will also be part of the line up of speakers through the afternoon.
Maeve Buckley will be the MC for the Day and we will have news about a new venture for Buckley herself over the coming few days.
