Christmas and sport for many means horse racing, either at Leopardstown or Limerick but there is a concerted push to make engagement with the sport more of a lifetime pleasure.
There is a strong radio advertising campaign currently on the airwaves promoting the benefits of syndicate ownership via the Irish National Stud which we highlighted last month.
There is also the return of “Horses for Courses” the successful adult education evening course on the sport which previously ran in partnership with some of the leading figures in the sport.
There is a very strong line up of lecturers for the six week course which gets underway on February 11th under the guidance of Mary Fitzgerald.
They include celebrated flat jockey and trainer Johnny Murtagh, Derby and Arc winning trainer John Oxx, Horse Racing Ireland CEO Brian Kavanagh and Irish Thoroughbred Marketing CEO Charles O’Neill as well as many more.
The course covers pretty much everything there is to know about horseracing including breeding, training, ownership as well as race riding, racecourse management, sponsorship and the media.
This New 6 week course starts Monday 11th February 2019,Talbot Hotel, Stillorgan, Dublin, 7.30pm-9.30pm.
If that sounds like a good gift for yourself or a loved one you can book a place here.
