We are taking a short break having been full-on since the start of the lockdown back in March.
Since that day when the sporting world and all of our lives came to a shuddering pause, we have hosted over 50,000 unique visitors to the Sport for Business website.
We have produced almost 1,000 pieces of unique content looking at the situation as it has developed for sport and business.
We switched into online mode and hosted 30 live events and gatherings across our community and have broadcast just under 100 pieces of video content including interviews with the CEO’s of the GAA, Camogie Association, Golf Ireland, Athletics Ireland, Rowing Ireland, Gymnastics Ireland and many more.
it has been a pleasure to serve and humbling to hear the reaction of friends and colleagues across the sector on what we were able to create to keep a sense of forward momentum.
We will be back on Thursday, August 13th, ready to launch a brand new online platform, offering greater benefits to our members and heralding a new future for Sport for Business, in line with what we know in our hearts will be an invigorating period of return to a central part in all our lives of Irish sport.
There has been a dearth of international competition but what there has been has seen Irish competitors win the Epsom and French Derbys in Horse Racing and beating World Champions England in Cricket.
We have seen the development of a streaming service created in Ireland between RTÉ and the GAA serving the SSE Airtricity League in a way that will have a lasting impact.
We have also seen major sponsorship announcements in Rugby, Cricket, Horse and Greyhound Racing.
It has been a half year we could never have imagined but we have come through together and now let’s get ready to kick on to a bright new future.
