The River Lee Hotel in Cork has been confirmed as an official partner of Basketball Ireland and Mardyke Arena UCC for the upcoming FIBA Women’s European Championship for Small Countries.
The announcement comes with just five weeks to go until the tournament tips off on June 26th when Ireland senior women’s team will face off against Luxembourg, Norway and Cyprus in Group B.
Reigning champions Malta, who pipped Ireland to the gold medal in 2016, will also compete and will contest Group A alongside Gibraltar, Moldova and Denmark.
It also comes just days after the announcement of Blackwater Motors, another local Cork brand willing to back the tournament putting the city in the international sporting spotlight.

Tickets are on sale for the tournament with daily tickets for adults at €15 and for U16’s at €5 as well as a number of tournament passes.
