It is one of the noisiest and busiest weekends of the sporting year and the full schedule has been announced for the Hula Hoops National Cup Finals at the National Basketball Arena.
The semi-finals in the Men’s and Women’s tournaments took place in Cork over the past weekend and Singelton Supervalu Brunell gave cheer to the local fans with a victory over DCU Mercy that prevented what would otherwise have a been a clean sweep for Dublin in the Men’s and Women’s Senior Finals.
They will take on Pyrobel Killester in the Women’s Final on the evening of Saturday, January 25th while in the Men’s Senior final the following night DBS Éanna will face Griffith College Templeogue who came through a thriller of a semi-final against Coughlan C&S Neptune.
The Hula Hoops IWA Wheelchair Basketball final between Killester WBC and Rebel Wheelers will get the weekend’s action underway, tipping off at 6.30 pm on Friday, January 24th.
Another six finals will take place over the three days including the U18 and U20 deciders in both the Men’s and Women’s National Cups.
Teams will gather from Trinity and the University of Ulster, Neptune, Moycullen and UCD Marian, IT Carlow, Belfast, Waterford and Portlaoise.
Both the senior men’s and Women’s Finals will be broadcast live on TG4 on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
