Basketball Ireland has announced the schedule for the Hula Hoops National Cup Finals Weekend which will have a feature final on each of Friday, Saturday and Sunday, January 25th to 27th.
The finals will be held at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght and will get underway with the Hula Hoops Irish Wheelchair Association Cup final between Ballybrack Bulls and Rebel Wheelers on Friday evening.
This year marks the first year that both the Men’s and Women’s Cup finals will be standalone events on Saturday and Sunday evening respectively. Both of these games will also be broadcast live on TG4.
The guest of honour for the Hula Hoops Men’s Pat Duffy Cup final between Pyrobel Killester and UCD Marian will be former NBA star and Irish international Pat Burke, while the guest of honour for the Hula Hoops Women’s Paudie O’Connor Cup final between Courtyard Liffey Celtics and Singleton SuperValu Brunell will be CEO of Sport Ireland, John Treacy.
The three days of action will also include another eight finals from Men’s and Women’s U18, U20 and Division One groups and will follow on from the Subway Schools Cup Finals which will take place at the same venue next Monday through Wednesday.
It promises to be a noisy and lively week of court action.
