Basketball Ireland has signed a 3 year agreement with KAPPA sportswear.
The partnership will mean that all 12 squads representing Ireland will be wearing Kappa in the coming season.
The Italian brand has a strong international pedigree across a variety of sport, being the kit partner of Leeds United in soccer and a host of international teams including in Basketball.
A new Ireland kit is currently being designed and will be launched before the end of the year.
The Irish national teams came back onto the scene this season with strong performances at the European Small Nations tournament and at under age level including with victories over England.
The agreement also has benefits for clubs, schools and colleges where Kappa playing gear can now be obtained at cost price, typically 50% lower than standard retail prices.
“Basketball Ireland is looking forward to establishing a great relationship with Kappa,” said JP Montgomery, Basketball Ireland Marketing and Sponsorship manager.
“When looking for a new partner we were keen to work with a brand with great basketball pedigree. Kappa certainly has that pedigree, they are the sole supplier of teamwear in the UK’s BBL, they are also apparel suppliers to international teams Argentina and Singapore.”
