Basketball Ireland and Kappa Sportswear have announced a three-year extension of their partnership. The new deal will run from 2019 at the end of the current agreement.
The renewed partnership will see the Irish international squads wearing Kappa, up to and including the European Championships in 2022.
It also brings a significant benefit for clubs and schools with Kappa offering a 50 percent discount on goods and kit ordered online by teams that are affiliated to Basketball Ireland
“We’re delighted to extend what has been a very successful partnership with Kappa,” said Basketball Ireland Commercial Manager Conor Meany.
“Our Irish teams have already had lots of memorable moments in the Kappa jerseys so hopefully, we will see lots more success over the coming years.”
“There are schools and clubs all over the country benefiting from the amazing discounts available due to the partnership, and we’d encourage more to find out how they too can get a fantastic deal.”
“Kappa UK are delighted to extend our contract with Basketball Ireland as we have found them to be a great organisation to work with,” said Kappa UK’s Team Sport Manager Dave Bandell.
This re-signing emphasises Kappa’s commitment to basketball in Ireland and we hope to continue our growth with the fantastic support we receive. We look forward to working with even more of the clubs and schools with the special discount available to them.”
Kappa is headquartered in Italy but with a strong retail presence around the world.
The brand has a lot of ‘cool’ with Lewis Hamilton and Selina Gomez among its global ambassadors. It signed a similar three-year extension with British Basketball earlier this year.
Basketball Ireland extended its sponsorship with Hula Hoops earlier this year as well. Read about that right here.
