The Camogie Association has appointed its first commercial manager after an open competition that drew a very high calibre of applicants.
Mary O’Toole will take up the new role on April 26th 2017. She joins from Musgrave Wholesale Partners where she managed the own brand strategy across Supervalu and Centra. She previously worked in SuperQuinn’s Head Office for seven years.
O’Toole has a degree in management and marketing from the Dublin Institute of Technology.
That experience will serve the sport well as it continues the implementation of ‘Our Sport Our Future’ the National development Plan introduced at Congress 12 months ago.
A major part of that plan was a greater focus on developing new revenue streams and diversifying the Association’s income through commercial development to generate new investment in growing the game even further.
At present the Association has strong sponsors of the All Ireland Championship in Liberty and the National Leagues in Littlewoods. AIB sponsor the Club Championships, the Finals of which take place next weekend at Croke Park and there are strong relationships with O’Neill’s and RTÉ Sport who televised both All Ireland Semi Finals last year for the first time as well as the Final.
O’Toole is also a player with Thomas Davis GAA club in South Dublin.
