We are on the road early this morning to take part in an exciting vision workshop being organised by Cork Sports 2040, a group comprised of the leadership of Cork’s sport, activity and wellbeing stakeholders.
It has arisen out of a joint initiative between Sport for Business and Maeve Buckley of Leading Sport who brought together an initial group in the City in February 2019 and which has developed at pace since then.
This morning’s session includes a wider group again of those who will play a key role in developing both infrastructure and programmes that will build a long-term vision for sport and wellbeing in the City and County.
We will look at examples of similar size areas that have created a strong place for sport to thrive and probe what might need to be done collaboratively to bring ideas to life in Cork.
It’s a project where smart minds acting together in a common purpose can have a real impact.
We will report back on some of the headline thoughts to emerge on Sport for Business tomorrow.
Sport for Business will be bringing similar collaborative groups together in Belfast and Galway over the coming months.
Leading Sport, UCC, Munster Rugby, Athletics Ireland, Rowing Ireland and Sport Ireland are active members of Sport for Business. Contact us today to find out more about what we could do for your organisation.
