Costello Signs for Cabinteely

We would like to wish a warm welcome this morning to Pat Costello in his new role as General Manager of Cabinteely FC in the SSE Airtricity League First Division.

“We have just celebrated our 50th Anniversary and we move on to the next chapter in the story of the club,” said Cabinteely Chairman Larry Bass announcing the appointment.

“The time is now right to take the club to another level and to deliver on the ambitions of those who set up the club in 1967 as well as the ambitions of those of us who have now taken up the mantle at the club.”

“Pat Costello brings vast experience from his various managerial roles with South Dublin County Council, Special Olympics Ireland and the Football Association of Ireland and together with his media experience in such outlets as KFM Radio, Ballywire Media and BBC Radio Ulster he is well placed to lead all administrative and operational aspects of the club at all levels.”

“I enjoyed a great working relationship with Pat Costello during my time as Assistant Manager of the Republic of Ireland as well as in my League of Ireland Manager roles and I look forward to continuing that relationship with him to the benefit of Cabinteely FC,” added Director of Football and First Team Manager, Pat Devlin.”

“Cabinteely Football Club has long been recognised as a club for doing things the right way,” said Costello, who takes up his new role today.

“I look forward to working with Larry Bass and the Board as well as
Pat Devlin, the coaches, the players and above all the many volunteers who make Cabinteely FC the best community club possible.”

“I also look forward to working with the various stakeholders at a national level as well as the business, and local government leaders in the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown area in delivering on the ambitions of Cabinteely FC as set out in their Vision and Strategy 2017 to 2021.”
