Could All Blacks Defeat Have Been Fated?

The All Blacks had seen what it was like to lose on Irish soil a full five days before they gave way to Ireland’s rugby team on Saturday.

As we reported last week they met up with Dublin GAA’s stars out at Castleknock Golf Club on Monday night as part of a promotional tour with sponsors of both AIG.

Today we can show you the full video of how the challenge went across Rugby, Gaelic Football, Hurling and Golf. It was the Dubs that emerged on top with Cormac Costello the highest scorer across the ten players that took part.

In what could, with hindsight, be taken as a hint of what was to come, the only player among the ten who failed to register a score was All Blacks Captain Kieran Reed. Maybe that was playing on his mind when he knocked on after blocking Jacob Stockdale’s clearance in one of Saturday night’s key moments…

And while we know that these things don’t really matter at all, and are just a bit of fun, when the All Blacks came two years ago and won at the Aviva, they had similarly won the skills challenge that year too…
