The Aviva Soccer Sisters Football Festival kicked off last week in venues nationwide. This year’s camps have been completely revamped, and are now completely free for girls aged between 6-14.
Over 6,000 girls throughout Ireland are taking part in ‘Come and try camps’ and football blitzes, which encourage participation in a fun and safe environment.
The idea is to make football more accessible, and get girls to start playing, and reaping the benefits, of sport from a young age.
This year, participant numbers are currently up over 50 per cent on the 2018 attendance. Camps are at 95 per cent of available capacity – and spaces have been increased where possible to cope with high demands.
82 camps were delivered during the first week of the Easter holidays, and 45 camps will be delivered this week.
Here’s what they looked like.
