He will not have been happy after Saturday’s Heineken Champions’ Cup Final defeat but life goes on for Johnny Sexton and the Leinster team.
There is a lot more rugby to be played in 2019 and beyond but Sexton, like any player still at the top of his game but the other side of 30 years old also needs to have at least part of an eye on life after the game.
He signed up earlier this spring with Cpl as part of the recruitment and employment specialist’s World Talent Series.
He has spoken to Cpl clients about his life and the way he manages his life around sport and on Friday the company released a video in support of that campaign.
It shows Sexton getting ready for a big occasion where he was not going to have to deliver 14 major tackles as he did on Saturday and shows that life is all about the next door opening.
He may not feel like it this morning but he will be picking himslef up quickly for next weekend’s big Guinness PRO14 semi final in front of a home crowd against Munster.
