Daily Video – Who is Eliud Kipchoge?

It was either the greatest individual sporting performance of all time or a manufactured technology driven mockery of the great moments in athletic history.

You take your pick of the two conflicting views of last weekend’s performance by Eliud Kipchoge in becoming the first human being ever to complete the Marathon distance in less than two hours.

Backed heavily by Nike and supported in his endeavours by Ineos, it was without doubt a superhuman feat.

The problem perhaps lies in association.  Nike is still reeling from the banning of Alberto Salazar and the closure of his Oregon Project.

Ineos’ main position in the collective sporting consciousness comes from having taken over as the replacement for Team Sky in cycling.

The performance itself was seen on a live stream by just under five million people around the world.

Today’s Daily Video is a mini documentary on the man behind the name behind the story.  It was produced as part of the project.
