Energia has appointed sponsorship and communications agency Legacy Consultants to manage its partnership with Leinster Rugby and the naming rights of Energia Park.
The partnership with Leinster was announced in March of this year when Donnybrook stadium adopted its new name and signage. As a ten year deal, it was one of the most significant new sponsorship agreements of the year.
After a competitive pitch process, Legacy came out on top having demonstrated “in-depth knowledge of the industry and an unrivalled understanding of sponsorship activation.”
The company, headed up by Dublin Football Star Bernard Brogan, has grown significantly over the past two years taking in Kevin Moore from Fleishman Hillard as Managing Director and, earlier this year Rachel Solon from WHPR as Head of Sport.
The company client list includes Littlewoods Ireland, Laya Healthcare, Volkswagen, Glenisk, Carling, AIG, and SuperValu creating an extensive expertise in activating sponsorships that yield tangible and quantifiable returns for business.
“This is a significant appointment for Energia as we look to maximise our relationship with Leinster Rugby, and our position as a premium partner to the team,” said Geoff Codd, Head of Marketing and Retail Development.
“Legacy showed an understanding of our brand and what we are looking to achieve in the future, both at a local and national level among our existing and prospective customers.”
“We are looking forward to working with the Legacy team to maximise the partnership and supporting Leinster Rugby in their future endeavours on and off the pitch.”
“We are delighted to be working with the team in Energia to bring its rugby partnerships to life,” added Rachel Solon, Head of Sport for Legacy.
“As Energia begins its 10-year partnership with Leinster Rugby, we are excited to begin the creative journey of an ever-evolving, insight driven campaign.”
“We pride ourselves on innovative, agile, through-the-line thinking that connects fans and customers through a shared passion. Energia is uniquely placed with its sponsorship of both the team and grounds and we look forward to collaborating with them now and into the future.”
“This is an exciting time for Energia. The brand identified Leinster Rugby as a property that shares similar values; they’re experts in what they do, they’re resourceful, and they continuously challenge themselves,” said Bernard Brogan, Legacy Commercial Director.
“Our sponsorship communications team here in Legacy is looking forward to collaborating with Energia to amplify the Leinster partnership and ultimately show tangible business results.”
