The latest in Guinness campaign of Six Nations Rugby Experiences will see six Irish fans travel to London this weekend and enjoy a full ‘culinary experience’ at Jodie Kidd’s Half Moon Pub in West Sussex.
Former supermodel Kidd will be joined in welcoming the fans by Vogue Williams for what should make for a change from the normal pre-match prep for fans.
They will stay overnight at the nearby Five Star South lodge Hotel before being transported to Twickenham for Sunday afternoon’s game and then back for a pint of Guinness or Guinness Clear in the local Cabbage Patch pub.
Guinness will also be hosting a number of special events in pubs around Dublin and London to mark the game which could see Ireland secure what at the start of the season seemed an unlikely Triple Crown.
It is the third experience in the series following on from a hike around Howth Head in advance of the Scotland game and a kicking simulator with Ronan O’Gara and Shane Williams two weeks ago in Cork and Dublin ahead of the Wales match.
The Irish team were entertained at Carton House on Tuesday evening by Bono who had been their choice as an inspirational guest speaker and who answered ‘Ireland’s Call’ without a moment’s hesitation.
The players were full of praise for him and he even performed a song.
Nobody was willing to reveal which one it was but perhaps ‘Blow your house down from Achtung Baby might have been an appropriate happily biased contribution.
