Active Lifestyle Think Tank
December 14, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Good ideas come in many forms but the two most common are ones that are truly innovative and ones that bring smart people together in common purpose.
We clearly like the latter at Sport for Business and a new initiative launched in the UK recently has obvious parallels to what might be possible in Ireland given our clear appetite for a start up economy and a national policy aimed at creating a more active population.
ActiveLab is a new accelerator for companies developing technology that will encourage and enable greater levels of physical activity and the consequent health benefits.
It is a coming together of not for profit health body UKActive, with two start partners AXA Private Health Insurance and Tech City UK.
Companies who can demonstrate an existing product and genuine growth potential can apply for a 12 week programme in front of business mentors, coaches, business end users and high net worth private investors in the health and tech scene.
Such a venture is eminently replicable in Ireland and we would like to open up the conversation about who might be good partners to get this kicked off.
It’s exactly the kind of initiative that can be explored quickly and efficiently by partners within the Sport for Business network and brought to life for an initial trial period to see if we have the scale and the enthusiasm here to make something similar work.
If you believe that there is merit in such an exploration get in touch with us today and let’s see on December 7th whether there is indeed something we can make happen for Irish companies looking to improve the health of the nation and the health of their own prospects for growth.
