Women in Sport 2018

Our annual gathering to highlight and explore the role of Women in Irish Sport will take place at the studios of RTÉ on Wednesday morning, December 5th.

It promises to be a lively morning looking at a number of important issues and learning from campaigns that have come to life this year in Ireland and across Europe.

Coming along will mean you are part of the debate, part of the future of Women in Sport.

Places are limited and booking is essential.

0915: The Player Perspective – A high profile panel of players from the Women’s Gaelic Players Association, led by Chair Aoife Lane looking at the progress made and what needs to happen next to achieve true equality of opportunityfor players.  We will also be looking at the question of why more players are not going on to become coaches.

0955: Knowledge Burst  Data on Women in Sport from Clubforce

10:00: What Next – The 20X20 Campaign with its architects Sarah Colgan and Mary O’Connor on how the campaign came about and what its ambitions are in 2019 and into 2020.

1035: Knowledge Burst – The Northern Ireland Experience

1040: Coffee Break and networking

1100: Knowledge Burst – Data on Women in Sport from RTÉ Audience insights

1105: Commercial Attraction – Why companies are drawn towards Women’s Sport

A panel discussion with some of the business leaders present around what it is that works best about supporting Women’s sport and what could be improved upon.  This will feature a discussion with John Coffey of Liberty Insurance and Aoife Clarke of Lidl on how their deep engagement is paying dividends.

1140: Knowledge Burst

1150: #WePlayStrong Keynote presentation and discussion with UEFA representatives on the genesis, the research, the activation and the initial results of UEFA’s powerful campaign to promote and encourage the Women’s game across Europe

1230: Launch of ’50 Women of Influence in Irish Sport 2018′

1235: Close and Light Lunch with networking
