The FAI has agreed a six-year extension to its kit sponsorship deal with leading Irish distribution agency JACC Sports/Toplion.
The newly extended deal will see all Republic of Ireland teams continue to wear team kit supplied by JACC/Toplion and will commence in August 2020 after the UEFA EURO 2020 tournament, four games of which will be held in Dublin.
The partners unveiled a new away kit earlier this week under the New Balance banner. They took over from Umbro which JACC/Toplion also represents in 2017.
New Balance also makes the kit for Liverpool, Celtic and Shamrock rovers so are a pretty popular label in cupboards up and down the country.
This is the sixth time that JACC/Toplion have renewed their sponsorship deal with the FAI, a relationship that goes back to 1994 when they took over the deal fro Adidas.
The renewal is the second vote of confidence in the FAI this week following on from Extra.ie being unveiled as the new brand on the FAI Cup.
“This six-year extension, commencing in August 2020, will see our original and subsequent agreements surpass a total of 32 years since we first partnered with the FAI in September 1994 and will hopefully take us to Qatar in 2022, Germany in 2024 and the ‘United’ North American tournament in 2026″, said Jonathan Courtenay, Managing Director of JACC Sports Distributors Limited.
“We look forward to working with the incoming board of the FAI, alongside the commercial and technical departments, to deliver world-class cutting edge product for both players and fans alike.”
“As an Irish company, we see this as an opportune time to renew our commitment to Irish football and we look forward to embracing the exciting challenges and changing times ahead.”
“The FAI and JACC Sports Distributors Ltd have enjoyed a long and fruitful partnership for many years now and this new six-year deal comes at a very important time in the history of Irish football,” added FAI General Manager Noel Mooney.
“We are looking forward to working closely with JACC as we enter a new exciting chapter for the sport both on and off the field of play.”
“JACC Sports Distributors Ltd provides the FAI with wonderful kit that continues to evolve and flex to meet our requirements and we are delighted to announce that the FAI will proudly wear their kits in Ireland and all around the world until 2026 at least.”
“They are also a great supporter of the SSE Airtricity League and have a genuine love of Irish football that makes them a perfect partner for the FAI.”
