The format will be based across multiple cities with different packages on offer. Ireland will bid to host three matches in the group stage and one from the second round.
It is believed that 32 cities have expressed an interest in being part of the tournament and there are 13 different packages available including one to host the two semi finals and the final.
Ireland’s prospects are believed to be strong having successfully hosted the Europa League Final in 2011.
A decision on the outcome of the winning bids is expected as early as September of this year.
