Ulster Rugby’s Head of Sales and Marketing Fiona Hampton is leaving the world of Rugby to take up a key new position in golf.
Hampton has been a key figure in Ulster’s development over the past nine years and has worked closely with major sponsors from Kingspan, Heineken and BT to Bank of Ireland.
She was also a central figure in bringing the first Guinness PRO12 ‘Destination’ Final to Belfast and as part of the team that led the hosting of the Women’s World Cup in 2017.
Throughout that time she has been an ever-present on the Sport for Business and Liberty insurance list of the 50 Most Influential Women in Irish Sport.
She will be staying in Belfast and taking up the new role of Director of Sales and Customer success for GolfNow who are managed by the Golf Channel and part of the NBC Sports Group.
They are market leaders in providing tee time booking solutions for golf clubs and Hampton will be responsible for growing the business across the UK and Ireland as well as in developing markets outside of the United States.
Hampton has been a long time supporter of Sport for Business and we wish her well in the new venture.
She has been a stand out leader in sport from a time when there were fewer women involved than is now the case and has been a pathfinder without ever seeking credit for being so.
Ulster Rugby together withing leading sporting and business organisations will be involved with the Sport for Business Sport for Social Good Conference taking place at Ulster University as part of celebrations for the 148th Open Championship on July 18th.
