The GAA Weekend focused on the Football Championship All Ireland Qualifiers and crowds of 36,300 and 48,723 attended croke park for the games on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.

Tyrone and Dublin are now assured of a place in the Semi-Finals while Donegal, Kerry and Mayo will battle it out in two weeks time to see which of those two will be their opposition.

This evening in Dublin Rob Hartnett from Sport for Business will record this week’s edition of the popular Hill 16 Army Podcast looking at the question of how much of Dublin’s current dominance at Senior Football level is down to its financial strength and the way in which central funding from the GAA is distributed.

It promises to be an interesting discussion, based on the facts that are out there and taking into account the history of previously dominant counties over periods of time and how funding works in different models across the sporting spectrum.

We will carry a link to the episode when it is released later in the week.
