The Ladies Football Interfirms Blitz has proven to be a hugely popular event over the last two years and the 2019 competition is now open for entries.
Sport for Business is delighted to be on board as a media partner this year and we will be carrying reports over the coming weeks on how teams are preparing to give their best on the fields of Naomh Méarnóg in Portmarnock, County Dublin on Saturday, May 18th.
The changing of the clocks has already given a feel of summer with grass pitches back in action for training across a host of club sports last night.
It has to be hoped that workplace teams will also be getting themselves ready to take on AIB who won last year’s blitz.
“It was fantastically well organised with great friendships built up over the day,” said Teresa Cregan-Stack from Pallas Foods who have entered a team for the last two years.
It was great to come away with the win,” added Annie Walsh from AIB.
“AIB is a very big organisation but the GAA is an important part of it. The club internally has been great at supporting us and it is great fun meeting and playing with girls from other departments.”
The competition is run on a blitz format with teams of seven drawn from panels of 12. The entry fee for each team is only €60 so hardly a barrier to what can be a great day.
The LGFA will provide sample training sessions for companies who have never considered this before but who will now, perhaps driven on by the enthusiasm around the 20X20 Campaign over the past six months.
You have to be working for the organisation to qualify to play and entries have to be submitted by April 24th.
