Heineken brought the Rugby World Cup to Dublin yesterday as the tournament sponsors marked 130 days to go until the tournament gets underway in Japan.
John Barclay from Scotland and Ireland’s Peter O’Mahoney were on the media beat talking up their opening game clash in the pool stages.
Heineken is driving engagement through its own Heineken Rugby Club which is the focus of promotion in pubs, off licences and in digital media.
Last month the brand confirmed a fifth-year extension of its partnership with fellow Sport for Business member Off The Ball around the Heineken Rugby Club Roadshow.
The brand’s global engagement with the tournament is being driven from Japan by Irishman Jim Geraghty who moved to the southern hemisphere for the duration of the build up.
Sport for Business will be catching up with Geraghty over the coming months as Heineken’s promotional efforts build up.
They will soon be launching a very special competition to win tickets to Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan
