Ireland’s Olympians – Cian O’Connor

To mark the Olympics that would have been taking place in Tokyo right now we have joined up with the sponsors of our Olympics Coverage on Sport for Business Indeed, to bring to life a series of interviews with those who would have played a part in Team Ireland’s participation.

Over 17 days we will meet the athletes, the officials, the support teams and others who would have played their part in the Olympic story of 2020 and will do so again in 2021.

In the latest interview this morning, we meet Cian O’Connor who is preparing for his third Olympic Games and has a bronze medal from London hanging proudly at his Karlswood stables.

We chat about the logistics of preparing for international competition, the impact of the delay on preparations of horse and rider and about the value of experience.

Look back on our earlier interviews in this series with Nhat Nguyen , Chloe Watkins , Shane Ryan and Sinéad Galvin

Join us tomorrow when we meet Roisin Upton, the Hockey player who got the team through against Canada while playing with a broken wrist.
