The IRFU has appointed William Fry to advise them on issues around the bid to host the Rugby World Cup in 2023.
The Sports Group within William Fry is headed up by Derek Hegarty who played professionally for Leinster and Munster Rugby between 1997 and 2004.
He will be joined as lead adviser for the Bid team by David Fitzgibbon and Leo Moore both partners in the firm whose Head Office is on Grand Canal Quay.
William Fry have a record in advising major sporting events having fulfilled that role to the K Club at the time of the Ryder Cup in 2006.
They also laid down their rugby credentials recently when sponsoring the Irish Team at the Lawyers Rugby World Cup which took place in London in 2015.
In April of this year John Boyle joined the company as Director of Business Development and Marketing, a role he had previously filled at PwC who retain a strong partnership with the IRFU as sponsor of the U20 International team and the Player Development Programme.
