The Irish Cricket team are causing something of a stir in the traditional home of the sport.

A new marketing campaign is in full swing to attract a full house to Lords for Ireland’s first appearance there on May 7th and it is drawing attention.

There is a full social media roll out as well as bus side advertising and signage targeted at a ‘non-traditional’ audience.

The social media side is being backed by content created at the Legends Rugby match on St Patrick’s Day when England players Ben Stokes and Liam Plunkett joined rugby stars including Ronan O’Gara and Paul O’Connell for the game and a few skills beyond what one might have expected.

Cricket Ireland is itself spending on attracting a crowd for this summer’s big home games against Bangladesh and New Zealand with outdoor advertising in a prominent position outside the Aviva Stadium ahead of last weekend’s Six Nations decider.

Would you be interested in joining fellow Sport for Business members for a Friday in Malahide where you can get to meet some of the stars of Irish cricket and learn more about the game?

Ireland Vs Bangladesh, Malahide, Friday May 19th.

I might be interested in coming along…
