Golf Ireland has commenced the recruitment process to appoint a Chief Executive to lead the establishment, growth and development of the new organisation.
Golf Ireland was created following the approval of the coming together of the Golfing Union of Ireland and the Irish Ladies Golf Union at the start of this year.
It will become the new national governing body for all of the sport across Ireland, and maintain responsibility for initiatives like the Team Ireland programme that recently attracted additional funding from Sport Ireland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy for the island of Ireland to ensure the game is fit and healthy for future generations to enjoy.
This will involve collaborating, engaging and influencing golfing structures at regional, national and international level, funding bodies and commercial sponsors.
Among the attributes listed as being important are experience of change management in a multi-stakeholder environment, a knowledge of membership bodies and an understanding of the game of golf and experience in a startup setting.
