Katie Taylor was the star attraction at a special SKY Sports VIP event yesterday in the Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield.
A showing of the Katie documentary whetted the appetite for the World Champion chatting with Sky customers who had been invited along.
There was plenty of speculation about Taylor’s next fight and first defence of her unified titles or of her moving up in weight to try to double up what she has achieved at 135 pounds.
That lines up the possibility of fighting Jennifer McCaskill at five pounds heavier, following the American who made a similar transition up.
Adding the weight would not be seen as a challenge by Taylor who said yesterday that her ‘walking around weight’ was 142 pounds but admitted she had not stepped on the scales since beating Delfine Persoon at Madison Square Garden last month.
A rematch against Persoon is a possibility as is a fight against Amanda Serrano. Whoever is the opposition Taylor expects to be back in the ring around October or November and that it will be in the United States.
She is returning there next week to go back into training.
Yesterday was an opportunity to relax and meet with fans. It was an exclusive opportunity for SKY VIP customers who can sign up for similar events free of charge on the MySky App.
