KBC Dublin Marathon Signs New Sponsor

The team from the KBC Dublin Marathon were in London over the weekend taking part in the Expo for the Virgin London Marathon and encouraging visitors to come to ireland in October in years to come.

This year’s race is already sold out and its continued popularity within the running community was a factor in the announcement yesterday that Ronhill is to become the official performance clothing supplier for the 40th running of the race, providing race merchandise and stewards jackets for the event.

A record number of 22,500 runners will go to the start line on October 27th, a record for the event after Dublin City Council granted an expansion of the numbers for 2019.

The brand is an iconic one within Marathon circles. It was established in 1970 by Ron Hill, the first British runner to win the Boston Marathon and a Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist.

Ronhill will be running a competition across its social media channels for runners to be in with a chance to win limited edition, KBC Dublin Marathon Ronhill performance kit.

“It is great to be associated with such a prestigious and popular marathon, especially for such a milestone as its 40th anniversary,” said Graham Richards, Ronhill Brand Director.

“The Dublin Marathon has grown from strength-to-strength over recent years and we are only too pleased to be the sportswear sponsor in its biggest year to date.”

“We are delighted to announce that Ronhill are coming on board for the 2019 KBC Dublin Marathon as our sportswear supplier,” added Dublin Marathon Race Director, Jim Aughney.

“Ronhill is an iconic running brand with great heritage, and it is fitting that it is coming on-board for our 40th anniversary year.”

Ronhill gear is available in Ireland through Life Style Sports and Intersport Elverys.
