It was a big weekend for the Ladies Gaelic Football Association with the Lidl National League awards at Croke Park on Friday evening followed by the second annual Interfirms blitz in Portmarnock in the afternoon.

AIB secured back to back titles in the Interfirms blitz, despite a rise in the number of teams taking part and this is a competition which is proving a real winner as Ladies Football goes from strength to strength in so many areas.

University Hospital Waterford took the Shield Final and you can see some of the highlights of the day on this social media video produced on the day.

A major factor in the recent growth of the sport has been the involvement of Lidl and Saturday night was another opportunity to mark their support while honouring the stars of the Spring.

Dublin dominated the awards with Mick Bohan taking the Manager of the Year title and Ciara trant, Martha Byrne and Nicole Owens picking up individual awards. This was the counties first League Division One win and while players are back in club championship action at the moment, they will shortly be starting to get ready for their Leinster final against Westmeath in Carlow on July 1st, the first step of their defence of the TG4 All Ireland title won in September.
