One of Dublin’s leading secondary schools is looking to appoint a Director of Sport who will have responsibility for devising and implementing a school sports strategy as part of an overall strategic plan.
The Kings Hospital is a voluntary Church of Ireland Co-educational secondary school for boarders and day pupils located in Palmerstown, West Dublin.
Natalya Coyle, Camilla Speirs and Leo Varadkar are all recent graduates of the school while Irish Rugby Captain of the 1950’s Robin Roe was also a pupil.
The School has active programmes in Rugby, Athletics, Basketball, Hockey, Canoeing, Rowing, Soccer and Tennis. It’s onsite facilities include floodlit all weather pitches, a modern sports hall and gym, tennis courts and a 25 metre indoor swimming pool.
The new Director of Sport will be responsible for increasing participation and performance levels in sport and recreation activities throughout the school and will serve as a member of the school’s Senior Management team.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in strategic planning and experience of competitive coaching in at least one sport.
Effective communication and an ability to lead will be essential requirements.
