Legends Tour Dates Unveiled

Bord Gáis Energy completed their treble of GAA Sponsorship launches yesterday when welcoming Clare and Donegal legends Brian Lohan and Eamon McGee to launch the 2019 Bord Gáis Energy GAA Legends Tour Series at Croke Park.

Over the summer months, they will be joined by a host of other Football and Hurling greats, including Tommy Walsh and Kieran Donaghy, who will lead exclusive tours of the Croke Park stadium and museum.

“We’re extremely proud of our eleven-year partnership with the GAA and are delighted to launch the seventh year of the Bord Gáis Energy GAA Legends Tour today,” said Bord Gáis Energy retail Director Colm Bebbington.

“Over the past decade, this partnership has enabled us to make a positive difference in communities right across the country.”

“We know our customers love Gaelic Games and through the Bord Gáis Energy Rewards Club, we offer our customers unmissable GAA rewards throughout the season, including the Bord Gáis Energy GAA Legends Tour.”

“Who better to lead the tours of the famous stadium than the players who have lit up the championship in both Football and Hurling over the years and are held in such high regard in the communities from which they come.”

“Since the inception of the Legends tour series in 2008, the GAA Museum has welcomed some of the biggest names in GAA history to relive their memories and entertain our visitors in what is a unique experience,” added Niamh McCoy, Director at the GAA Museum.

“We would like to thank Bord Gáis Energy for their ongoing support of the series. We’re looking forward to another successful year, and we promise another stellar line-up.”

Much of the media coverage surrounding the launch has focused on the relationship between four-time All-Star Lohan and his All Ireland winning partner in goals Davy Fitzgerald.

The relationship does not appear to be quite as close as when they were side by side winning two titles in 1995 and 1997.
