Leinster’s fourth win in the European Champions’ Cup added to a dramatic season of unrivalled success in Irish rugby and just like in Paris back in February it left some heartstopping moments.
The team returned from Bilbao to a homecoming at Energia Park in Donnybrook yesterday and they were welcomed by many of the fans who had not been able to make the journey as well as some of those, bleary-eyed, who had.
The focus this morning will have already turned to next weekend’s semi-final in the Guinness PRO14 against Munster for which additional seating has already been constructed at the RDS.
The talk from the management after the game was a mix of celebration but also a determination to go back again and make it five in 2019 when the Finals will be held in Newcastle.
Full credit obviously to the team, management and behind the scenes staff who made such a win at the highest level of the sport possible once more for the province but also, in this small corner to main sponsors Bank of Ireland who were straight over the line themselves with this powerful reminder of the fact that a winning team is built all the way from the ground up.

They weren’t the only sponsors to offer their congratulations either with messages coming in from across the board of Leinster’s partners
