Life Style Launches New Mobile App

Life Style Sports has completed a significant step in line with shifting trends toward online purchasing with the launch of a new native app.

Ireland’s largest sports retailer with 51 outlets across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, has launched the new mobile app with Manchester-based long-term partner One iota, a leading provider of cloud‐based apps.

With recent research indicating that mobile apps convert at three times the number of mobile websites, it was a logical move for the retailer to further explore the opportunity to engage with its customers through this channel.

The app needed to cover the entire journey from browsing to search and discovery to purchase to after-sales, in addition to offering the best opportunity to utilise dynamic content, enhance the personalisation of the shopping journey for each user and build long term loyalty.

“We’re delighted to be working with One iota on developing this mobile app for our customers,” said Go To Market Director Gordon Newman.

“Having worked with the team at One iota for several years now, they were the partner of choice for us on this project; particularly given their extensive knowledge of our business, the fast pace of the sportswear market, and the requirements of our digital‐savvy customers.”

“As the largest sports retailer in Ireland, it’s fantastic to be working with Life Style Sports to support them in developing their app, and in particular entrusting us with a new approach to native app development,” added Christian Brooks, Director of One Iota.

“Whilst the app provides a seamless shopping journey for their customers, we believe the real value for Life Style Sports will be a technology stack that allows new features and functionality to be delivered quickly to iOS and Android experiences by a single team.”

“Building new features for the Life Style Sports app will be crucial to setting them apart from the crowd, leading to improved conversion, higher average order values and increased repeat purchases.”
