Littlewoods Turning Sports Broadcaster

Littlewoods Ireland will become the latest brand to turn sports broadcaster this weekend when they live stream the Semi-Final of the 2018 Littlewoods Ireland Camogie League between Kilkenny and Galway this coming Sunday, March 11th.

The game will take place at St. Rynagh’s GAA Banagher, Co. Offaly at 2pm while Cork take on Limerick in Cork Institute of Technology at the same time.

Shelly Farrell (Kilkenny), Ashling Thompson (Cork), Sarah Carey (Limerick) and Sarah Dervan (Galway) were all at the Iveagh Gardens in Dublin yesterday to make the announcement of this new step in year two of the Littlewoods Ireland sponsorship of the Camogie national Leagues.

The Galway v Kilkenny stream will be shown on their Facebook page. Promoting the sport has been a crucial part of their sponsorship of the League and live-streaming one of the Semi-Finals will further engage fans, old and new, ensuring the sport of Camogie reaches as large an audience as possible.

The live-stream will be hosted by sports journalist Lauren Guilfoyle. Half-time analysists from participating counties will also be giving their insights into these crucial games.

“We are delighted to be sponsoring the National Camogie Leagues for the second year and we’re excited to see what the Semi-Finals have in store,” said Littlewoods Ireland Marketing Manager Fiona Lee.

“The live streaming of the Galway vs Kilkenny Semi-Final is a brilliant opportunity for us to bring Camogie to a wider audience at home and abroad and give Littlewoods Ireland the opportunity to showcase and highlight the amazing passion, commitment, dedication and athleticism these players bring to the game”.

“The Semi-Finals of the Leagues are an important day in the Camogie calendar,” added Camogie Association President Catherine Neary.

“I wish to acknowledge all that Littlewoods Ireland, sponsors of the National Leagues have contributed this year in promoting and supporting the Camogie Leagues.”

“This is the second year of Littlewoods Ireland’s sponsorship and we have been thrilled with the collaborative and innovative nature of this sponsorship.”

This year’s sponsorship continued with the “Style of Play” campaign which ran throughout the league last year. Littlewoods Ireland have been showcasing the skill and style of the players on the pitch with their Style of Play Moments series, highlighting the most stylish moments during the Division 1 Feature Games.

At the end of the league, the Style of Play trophy, specially commissioned for the league, will be awarded to the most stylish moment as voted for by the general public on the Littlewoods Ireland Facebook page.

Throughout the league, Littlewoods Ireland have been seeding out video content highlighting camogie players all over the country in a short interview series which has reached an audience of over 40K.
