The Kilmacud 7’s are traditionally one of the last places to secure an All Ireland Final ticket. This year’s event is sponsored again by Londis and the launch took place in Stillorgan yesterday with Tyrone star forward, Richie Donnelly, Dublin legend Charlie Redmond and five-time All-Ireland winner with Kerry Tomas O Se.

The tournament attracts clubs from all over the country and takes place this Saturday, August 31st. It was first run in 1973 and has now been going as a staple of All Ireland weekend for over 40 years.

“We are very excited to be sponsoring the Londis 7s All Ireland Senior Football tournament in Kilmacud Crokes again this year,” said Londis sales director Conor Hayes.

“Londis is in operation for over 60 years in Ireland and community engagement and local participation is at the heart of what we, as a brand, are about.”

“Being associated with this unique competition, that brings teams together from all over Ireland, reaffirms our commitment to the local communities our independent retailers serve.”

“We are delighted to be partnering with Londis again this year for the Londis 7s All-Ireland Senior Football tournament,” added Pat Horgan, Chairman of Kilmacud Crokes Football.

“The club is very proud of the long and successful history associated with this tournament. The interest and popularity of the competition have grown annually and it’s great to have an iconic brand such as Londis involved as sponsor again this year. I am really looking forward to seeing some fantastic football skill during the tournament.”

Throw in for the first game takes place at 10.30am on Saturday, 31st August and each team will play a minimum of three games before the winners’ advance towards the final event which takes place that evening at Kilmacud Crokes’ Glenablyn base.

Last year’s winners Corofin from Galway are back to defend the crown they won last year.
