Double All Ireland Hurling Champion with Tipperary Brendan Maher is taking up a new role where he will be arranging media interviews as opposed to sitting on the side of the table facing a battery of recorders and microphones.
Maher has joined Teneo Sports as a senior consultant based out of their Dublin offices. The company works with a number of clients in and around the sporting world.

Maher is a two-time All-Ireland winner with Tipperary at senior level and brings with him vast experience, from a brand ambassador perspective, of sponsorship and sports PR.
He has also held many leadership positions including being one of only a handful of players to have captained All-Ireland minor and senior winning teams and is the Tipperary Senior Hurlers’ GPA lead squad representative.
In his new role, Maher will concentrate on brand ambassador selection and strategy; media training for young athletes; sponsorship activation; sports PR; leadership talks and strategy.
He joins Teneo Sports having previously worked as a primary school teacher, set-up and co-managed the Solus Autism Unit in Loughmore, Co. Tipperary and managed a high-performance gym.
He holds a Bachelor of Education from Mary Immaculate College, Limerick and a Certificate in Strength and Conditioning from Setanta College, Maynooth.
We wish him well in the new role.
