Munster Over the Sponsorship Gain Line

Munster Rugby have had the kind of season to date that could barely have been imagined twelve months ago.  They have been active off the pitch as well in securing the kind of partnerships which will sustain the revival in their fortunes.

Bank of Ireland’s new Sponsorship Manager Gemma Bell made her first mark by signing up last week to a five year extension to the Bank’s partnership with Munster.

This will include having Pater O’Mahoney and Conor Murray as Bank of Ireland brand ambassadors in the 2017/18 season, a year in which they could be touring the country with the Guinness PRO12 and the European Champions’ Cup in their hands, depending on how the next six weeks play out.

That deal with the Bank is given further heft today with the news that David Wallace, capped over 200 times for Munster and part of their double winning Heineken Cup team has been appointed as Bank Of Ireland Business Development Director for the Munster Region, reporting to former Tipperary All Ireland winning Manager Liam Sheedy.

The renewed of the Main partnership deal first signed in 2013 will include exclusive jersey branding of all playing and training kit for the Munster senior and “A” teams and the roll out of the Bank of Ireland Munster Rugby Summer camps in 23 locations across the province starting this July.

“This will see the relationship extend into its 25th year in 2023 and builds on Bank of Ireland’s wider commitment to the Munster region.

Our 72 strong branch network in Munster combined with Munster Rugby’s large and devoted fan base provides an excellent fit for Bank of Ireland to connect with communities across the Munster region and the wider country.”

Munster has also signed a three year strategic partnership with performance lifestyle sports nutrition company, MusclePharm.  The brand has an existing partnership with current Super Rugby champions The Hurricanes.
