Chivers, part of the Boyne Valley Group, has come on board as a first time sponsor of Horse Sport Ireland’s senior Eventing team.
The Irish Eventing team became Ireland’s first sports team to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics when they secured team silver at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina.
Members of the Irish Eventing squad have built on this success over the past 18 months, securing both an individual World Silver medal and Individual European Bronze medal for Ireland as well as a team podium finish in the Nations Cup at Camphire International Horse Trials.
Chivers, best known for its jams, is part of the Boyne Valley Group who are the official food partner to the Sport Ireland Institute, where many Irish equestrian athletes have been training as they prepare for the 2020 Olympic Games which take place in Tokyo this August.
They also have a partnership with Swim Ireland and Rowing Ireland under the Kinetica brand.
“We are delighted to be supporting Ireland’s elite high-performance Eventing athletes on their journey to the Tokyo Olympics,” said company Chief Financial Officer Bill O’Sullivan.
“The training programme these riders and horses are on is world-class. We are very enthused by their dedication and focus and Boyne Valley Group is delighted to help and support the Irish Eventing team through the Chivers brand.”
“It is fantastic to see how Boyne Valley Group have used their range, of over 20 market-leading brands, to help improve nutrition and enhance the performance potential of Olympic and Paralympic athletes through their partnership with the Sport Ireland Institute,” added Horse Sport Ireland Eventing High-Performance Director, Sally Corscadden.
