Ryle Nugent, the former Head of Sport at RTÉ and voice to many of Ireland’s rugby triumphs down the years, has launched a new business Stakeholder Sports reaching out to rights holders, commercial partners and others within the commercial world of sport.
Sport for Business launched in the depths of the financial crisis at the start of the last decade so we have empathy with others who choose to dive in when the waters look at their choppiest.
Nugent has pulled together a team of consultants that include leaders from across the rights community and including executives across Britain and Europe that have played a key role in many of the major deals over recent years including from the BBC and the European Broadcasting Union.
“Despite the current climate, I’ve decided to continue with the plan to launch Stakeholder Sport now,” Nugent told us in an interview to be published in full here on Wednesday.
“In many ways, the experience of leading at significant organisations in the industry during the last time of crisis gives us some understanding of the challenges at hand for rights holders, commercial partners, federations and content platforms in the months ahead.”
“I’ve already been fortunate to successfully work with some premium clients and brands. However, it’s important to note that Stakeholder Sport offers a suite of services for industry clients at all levels.”
His thoughts on where the industry is right now and how it might emerge from the current crisis will be of real interest across the sector.
We are pleased to have Stakeholder Sports join us as the newest member of the Sport for Business community.
