Tonight’s Late Late Show on RTÉ will have an Olympic feel a full five months out from the Tokyo Games.
Ryan Tubridy will invite four of our hopefuls for the games to join him on stage and introduce themselves to an audience likely to be in excess of 500,000.
Natalya Coyle representing Modern Pentathlon; Jack Wooley from Taekwondo, swimmer Shane Ryan and race walker Brendan Boyce are the four who we understand will be representing the as many as 80 athletes who we hope to have out at the Games.
It will be a great opportunity for them to tell their stories and to continue the preparation of the public to become immersed in sports which would not normally command the centre stage.
Each of them are fine ambassadors for their sport and hopefully will come out with some one-liners under Ryan Tubridy’s light interrogation that will stick in the minds of those watching.
