One-Zero 2019 – Fan Engagement Stage

The One-Zero Event at the Aviva Stadium next week has brought together a strong group of some of the most influential leaders in the business of sport at a global level.

There are four specific stages dedicated to Broadcast and Media; Fan Engagement; Sports technology and Sponsorship, as well as a Main stage where the list of keynotes is a who’s who of those shaping the future of how sport is managed and consumed.

Sport for business will be part of the day, with Rob Hartnett hosting the Broadcast and Media Stage. We have enabled 25 Women from within the Sport for Business Membership to attend for free as part of an Inspire Women in Sport initiative and throughout this week we will highlight the key speakers who will star on the day.

As we continue to preview some of the different areas that will be covered on the day, today we alight on the Fan Engagement stage where the subjects to be covered will include social media, gaming and technology.

1005 New Age Social: How to Captivate and Convert the At Home Fan

Over 50% of sports fans use their laptop or phone as a second screen when watching live sports. How can marketers tap in to this through social conversation and mobile marketing?

A strong panel consisting of Michael Nagle, Head of Social Media and Digital at Paddy Power, Marissa Mast, Head of Social at the Arizona Coyotes NHL Franchise, and Jeramie McPeak who has worked across the NBA and running social media on the 2017 Super Bowl in Houston, will be guided through the discussion by Enda Conway, Head of Social at Dublin Agency BBDO.

1050 Threats and Opportunities Within the World of eSports

A second panel discussion will see Trev Keane of Sportego guide Anna Baumann, Managing Director of Rogue eSports, Pearse Connolly, Head of Digital at the Norwegian FA and Chris Hanna, CEO at eSports Observer through a discussion looking at how brands can grow their fanbase and maximise engagement through the fast growing world of eSports as well as what the level of threat might be to traditional sports in terms of audience engagement.

1405 The Strava Story

Gareth Nettleton, Vice President of Marketing at Strava will guide us through how the service which enables users to track their own physical activity tapped into the psyche of the fitness enthusiast community.

1450 Formula 1 Engaging a New Age of Fans through Fantasy Gaming

Tim Orme, Head of Digital product at Formula 1 will discuss the sport’s very public digital rebrand over the last two years with the emergence of F1 TV, a new look for and the launch of their own Netflix series.

Killian Jones, CEO at PlayON will then move to talk about F1’s partnership with PlayON, and how they have increased the level of fan loyalty and engagement through fantasy gaming.
