Guinness PRO14 have announced another media rights deal which will bring exclusive streaming of seven games every weekend and all the knockout stage games to subscribers in France, Spain, Portugal and across Latin America.
No value has been placed on the deal but it is another in the suite of broadcast agreements which are bringing the tournament to an ever wider number of markets.
FloSports covers a variety of sports from Basketball to Volleyball and is a significant broadcaster of College sport in the US.
The FloRugby channel already has rights to the HSBC World Sevens Series in Colorado, USA Eagles Internationals, Americas Pacific Challenge, The Rugby Weekend, the Autumn Internationals, Top 14, USA Rugby Collegiate Sevens, and more.
Its coverage of the Guinness PRO14 begins on the weekend of October 26th after the break for the Heineken Champions Cup, and there will be seven matches per week as well as the Guinness PRO14 Final Series including the final on May 25th at Glasgow’s Celtic Park.
“We are very pleased to embark on this new partnership with Guinness PRO14, one of the most exciting and competitive professional leagues in the world,” said FloSports SVP, Global Rights Acquisitions and Strategy Adam Fenn.
“Rugby fans in these markets now have access to some of the best professional international rugby as the teams work toward competing in the European Rugby Champions Cup and the European Challenge Cup.”
“We are really excited about FloSports – and FloRugby, in particular – joining our family of broadcast partners,” added Martin Anayi, CEO of PRO14 Rugby.
“Rugby and sports broadcasters find themselves in very similar positions as the marketplace changes rapidly based on the demand of fans to consume content on their terms.”
“As one of the elite club rugby tournaments in the world, we are always looking to innovate and better serve our audiences and we’re really looking forward to working with FloSports to bring the Guinness PRO14 and provide unprecedented access to our fans around the world.”
Guinness PRO14 Rugby matches are all shown live in Ireland on eirSport with a selection on TG4.
