Pro14 Rugby have appointed Leeds based digital agency Delete to redesign its website and online strategy.
The agency works with a number of major sports rights holders including the R&A with whom they work on the Open Championship, The FA and Southampton Football Club.
They won the contract after a competitive pitch process and have begun work on scoping out what the new online presence will look like.
“We are very excited to be working with Delete and have great confidence that their leading strategy and UX capability will deliver a platform befitting of our ambitious brief,” said Pro14 Rugby Marketing Director Tom Lister.
“We have a unique competition, home to some of the world’s best teams and most passionate rugby fans. This project forms part of a wider digital transformation and our website shall rightly serve as the ultimate shop-window for the Championship.”
“We aim to engage with fans through brilliant video, written and visual content to grow our audience and provide sophisticated opportunities for our growing network of commercial partners.”
“Delete’s expertise and experience in this area, underpinned with leading technical creds, made them our digital partner of choice.”
Pro14 Rugby launched its own OTT streaming service as a home for video content and live streaming to countries where there is no primary broadcast agreement back in May of this year.
The Guinness Pro14 season gets underway on Friday, September 27th when Ulster host the Osp[reys at Kingspan Stadium. Connacht, Munster and Leinster get their campaigns underway the following day against the Dragons, The Scarlets and Benneton Rugby.
