Ready For an Epic Day of Sport

It promises to be a day of days for Irish sport and with the main action taking place in Japan and Georgia it will be a TV feast for most.

The action will begin at 11.00 am when Daire O’Brien will be joined on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player by Eddie O’Sullivan, Jamie Heaslip and Stephen Ferris for live coverage of Ireland v Samoa from Fukuoka.

Commentary will come from Hugh Cahill and Donal Lenihan,

At 11.30 am on RTÉ Radio 1 presenter Damien O’Meara will be joined in studio by Bernard Jackman with Michael Corcoran and Rob Penney on commentary from the Fukuoka Hakatanomori Stadium.

The game kicks off at 11.45 am.

When the whistle blows there it will be time to switch codes.

At 1.45 pm on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player Darragh Maloney presents live coverage of the Georgia v Republic of Ireland Euro 2020 Qualifier from Tbilisi alongside Damien Duff, Didi Hamann and Kevin Doyle.

Commentary from Tbilisi will be from George Hamilton and Ronnie Whelan with a 2.00 pm kick-off.

next up at 4.45 pm on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player will have Joe Stack joined by Ger Brennan and Philly McMahon for live coverage of a Dublin Football Championship quarter-final double-bill from Parnell Park. First up St Judes face St Vincents (throw-in 5.15 pm) followed by Ballyboden St Endas v Na Fianna (throw-in 7.00 pm).

An epic day of sport will conclude at 8.00 pm on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player when Clare MacNamara and guests Eddie O’Sullivan, Donncha O’Callaghan and Fiona Coghlan will take a look back at this morning’s Ireland v Samoa game.

Fans can also enjoy bespoke content on RTÉ Player this weekend with Greg O’Shea, Stephen Ferris, Bernard Jackman and comedians Emma Doran and Jen Hatton.
